Martijn Koolstra (nl)
Martijn about his work at FLAT_land. My work arises in interaction with the surrounding where I am part of, at the moment the Poptahof in Delft. I develop my ideas in animation, drawings and site specific sculpture. Beforehand it is not clear what I will make, I get influenced by what is happening in my direct surroundings. I pay attention to street life, I attempt to oversee and influence and try to keep it outside, the architecture of the Poptahof is a dominant factor and in fact a decor where my attempts take place. www

Matthijs Kiel (nl)
Matthijs about his work at FLAT_land. The Poptahof neighborhood in Delft is at the moment a movement of people who get an accommodation elsewhere and in the Poptahof because of demolition of flats and houses. I am interested in this movement, the interest of making this movement visible in art in the form of drawings, sculptures and interactive environment-works. The decline, destruction or fragmentation is a fascinating process and the challenge for me lies in the aspect of time which is connected with the destruction and fragmentation which I want to make visible. This will happen by affecting movement and mobility in the form of an interactive environment: the ‘Individual horizon’. Where I am working on at the moment. I will use hoops to create an epicenter of people trundle a hoop at the public square below the flat building. In this way I want to make the movement of people, which takes place in the Poptahof at the moment, visible. The outcome will be an interaction of graphic and sculptural interventions which will discuss the aspects of time and the eccentric forms in the direct surroundings which we are familiar with. www
